Huge thank you to all my supporters, coaches, family and friends, and my golden sponsors.
You make it possible for me to pursue my dreams!
I look back on a fantastic, educational and also successful season.
A season with minor setbacks and huge steps towards my biggest dreams.
In autumn 2021, I auditioned for the selection days and was selected for the Swissski selection squad, which was a total surprise for me.
Overjoyed and with one goal in mind, to score my European Cup points, I skied my first FIS races.
At the end of January I managed to score my European Cup points at the FIS race in Lenk. A big thank you to my family and friends who supported me on the slopes.
In the European Cup, I skied my first Top10 (Reiteralm AUT) and Top20 results (in les Contamiens FRA and Veysonnaz SUI) during the season. I improved my skiing technique at the start, as well as my flying position over jumps or rollers. However, I still have many quirks and mistakes that prevent me from winning. However, this is totally okay because it is my first season on these slopes and at this level.
I learned an enormous amount of new things and made important experiences. I crashed, got back up and tried again. According to the motto "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
Fortunately, I never had very bad consequences of these falls. I was able to leave it at a concussion and a hairline fracture in my wrist.
The highlight of the season came at the end.
When I was allowed to take part in the Junior World Championships in Veysonnaz at the end of March.
With a very acceptable 18th place, I was able to end this turbulent season at the JWC and look back on it with satisfaction.
Now I will go ski testing on the Reiteralm in mid-April and then tackle the sweaty hours of fitness training to be properly fit for the 22/23 season.
I am looking forward to it!
Peace out
-celia
